The Chestnut Ridge School District has served the families of our community for over 50 years. Founded in 1952, the district has a history of community-based, quality education. Our elementary student body of around 750 students with an average class size of 22 allows our teachers to connect individually with each student, and makes every family part of a true school community.
Central also has two pre-kindergarten classrooms. Central Elementary is now our primary school with all our kindergarten, first and second grade students. New Paris Elementary is our intermediate campus with all our third and fourth grade students. The Head Start building at New Paris houses two pre-kindergarten classrooms.
A dedicated faculty provides our children with an academically rich and demanding instructional program. The PTO actively supports all student and staff endeavors. Parents can be counted upon to join in our many activities. Our students flourish because of this strong sense of community that is shared by our students, parents, staff, and neighbors.
